The Department of Economic Cybernetics and Economic Security Management at NURE is opening new opportunities to present research findings, exchange scientific ideas, and explore current economic challenges together.

We invite researchers, academic staff, higher education students, representatives of research institutions, and practitioners to take part in two of the Department’s scientific initiatives.

On 3 November 2026, the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Strategies for Economic Development: Science, Innovation and Business Education” will take place online. The conference will address digital transformation of the economy, entrepreneurship development, finance, economic security, innovation in business education, and other topical issues. The working languages are Ukrainian and English.

The Department is also preparing the collective monograph “Transformation of Socio-Economic Systems in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals,” scheduled for publication in December 2026. Researchers are invited to submit contributions in Ukrainian or English that demonstrate scientific novelty and theoretical, methodological, methodical, or practical value.

The Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security at NURE has published the results of its surveys for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The surveys covered five educational programmes offered by the Department and four target groups. The responses, comments, and suggestions help assess the organisation of the educational process, identify areas for improvement in educational programmes, and take stakeholders’ expectations into account.

Making survey results publicly available is an important part of an open dialogue that supports the continuous improvement of educational quality.

The development of society begins with the development of people — their knowledge, their ability to think, understand others, make informed choices, and take responsibility for our shared future. Higher education plays a special role in this process: it provides an intellectual foundation for change, helps foster a culture of dialogue, and contributes to building a society of conscious and active citizens.

Behind this larger process lies the everyday work of educators. Much of it is difficult to fit into work plans or measure through conventional indicators: finding the right way to explain something, preparing new material, an unexpected question that makes us rethink a topic, or a discussion that goes far beyond the lecture. All of this requires time, creative energy, and intellectual generosity. And the results sometimes become visible much later — in the decisions, ideas, and professional achievements of our students.

Dear colleagues, on Educators’ Day, we wish all of us openness to new ideas, students who know how to surprise us, and colleagues who make even the most challenging questions more interesting. May we always have enough time for our own ideas, the satisfaction of a job well done, and reasons to be proud of what we accomplish together.

To mark Ukrainian Cossack Day and the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, the exhibition presents works from the Grynyov family collection, united by the themes of Ukrainian cultural tradition, historical memory, and national identity.

The exhibition brings together different artistic approaches to interpreting Ukrainian identity through landscapes, folk traditions, scenes of everyday life, and literary heritage.

A separate part of the exhibition features works created as part of the plein-air project “Following in Vasylkivskyi’s Footsteps.” The artists explored places associated with the work and artistic heritage of Serhii Vasylkivskyi, continuing the tradition of Ukrainian landscape painting while offering a contemporary interpretation of the native land. These works present the Ukrainian landscape not only as a natural environment but also as a space of historical and cultural memory.

Another thematic section features paintings by Viktor Ihumentsev, whose works draw on Ukrainian folk traditions, customs, and imagery. In his art, folklore is presented not as a museum artifact but as a living part of Ukrainian visual culture that continues to evolve and be reinterpreted in contemporary art.

The third component of the exhibition consists of graphic works — book illustrations for works by Ukrainian writers. Through the art of the book, the artists turn to another important dimension of cultural heritage — Ukrainian literature. Illustration becomes a bridge between the written word and the visual image, offering new perspectives on familiar literary stories and characters.

The exhibition brings together works from different genres and generations, yet they all address a common theme — the preservation and interpretation of Ukrainian cultural memory. A landscape, a folk tradition, a literary character, or an image of everyday life becomes part of a broader story about a culture passed from one generation to the next.

The Grynyov Art Collection demonstrates the diversity of artistic ways to speak about Ukrainian tradition — and, at the same time, the importance of preserving it today.

About the Grynyov Art Collection

The Grynyov family has been collecting Ukrainian art of the 20th and 21st centuries since the 1990s. Today, the collection comprises approximately 5,000 works, representing a broad spectrum of Ukrainian artistic life.

In March 2022, part of the collection located in Kharkiv was at risk of destruction due to Russian shelling of the city. Through the efforts of the collection’s team, approximately 2,000 works were evacuated. Some of them were subsequently temporarily relocated outside Ukraine. Today, these works are exhibited in various European countries, drawing attention to Ukrainian art and the scale of the destruction of Ukraine’s cultural heritage caused by Russian aggression.

Approximately 4,000 works from the collection remain in Ukraine and have been distributed among different cities for preservation. The exhibition at NURE has been assembled from this part of the collection.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced a competitive selection of research and technological (experimental) developments to be launched in 2027 as part of the state-funded research programme.

The competition covers 13 priority areas and corresponding technical tasks. Key requirements include a focus on an applied outcome and its practical use, relevance to the current needs of the state, as well as well-grounded technological and resource parameters of the proposed development. The maximum total cost of one development is up to UAH 10 million.

The application deadline is 26 October 2026, at 13:00 Kyiv time. Applications must be submitted electronically through the NAUKA National Electronic Research Information System, using a qualified or appropriate advanced electronic signature.

The conference will take place on October 15–16, 2026, and is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Ivan Boberskyj Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

The NGO BRIT invites educators to join the international training “Gender-Inclusive STE(A)M Teaching”, organized within the STREAM IT project (Horizon Europe).

The training will provide practical tools for identifying gender bias in teaching and exploring ways to make STEM/STEAM education more inclusive. Participants will also have an opportunity to exchange experience with colleagues from European countries.

The sessions will take place on October 1, 8, 15 and 22, from 17:00 to 19:00 (Kyiv time) via Zoom, in English.

The training is intended for teachers, particularly STEM/STEAM educators, school leaders, psychologists, and anyone interested in developing more inclusive learning environments.

Researchers from the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security at NURE presented the results of their joint research at the 16th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT’2026), an international academic event whose proceedings are indexed in Scopus. The conference was held from 2 to 4 September 2026 in Zlín, Czech Republic.

The conference was attended by Tetiana Polozova, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Iryna Sheiko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor; Serhii Stepanenko, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor; Stanislav Ponomariov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor; Oleksandr Potii, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor; and Olena Peresada, Senior Lecturer.

The Department’s research results were presented by Iryna Sheiko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, with the paper “Digitalization and Labour Market Development: an International Perspective.”

ACIT’2026 brought together researchers working at the intersection of modern information technologies, computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematical modelling, cybersecurity, and the application of IT in economics and management.

The conference also has an important publication dimension for the academic community. ACIT is represented in the international Scopus bibliographic database; proceedings from previous years have been indexed in Scopus, while the ACIT’2026 proceedings are planned to be submitted to IEEE Xplore and for indexing in international bibliographic databases after the relevant procedures have been completed.

Participation in international academic events provides an opportunity to present the Department’s research results to the international academic community and contribute to scholarly dialogue on the digitalization of the economy and labour market development.
