On November 3, 2026, the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) hosted the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Strategies for Economic Development: Science, Innovation and Business Education”.

The conference brought together researchers, representatives of the academic community, higher education students, and stakeholders to discuss current trends in economic development, digital transformation, the application of artificial intelligence in management, and the development of corporate strategies in the face of contemporary challenges.

During the plenary session, presentations addressed economic digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence in management, financial management, and the development of corporate strategies in response to contemporary challenges.

A separate focus of the conference was the discussion of the Department’s educational programmes. Representatives of the academic community and stakeholders addressed opportunities to improve the content of educational components, strengthen the practical training of students, and develop professional competencies in line with current labour market needs.

The conference provided a platform for professional dialogue, the exchange of research findings and practical experience, and stronger cooperation between education, research, and business.

A team of researchers from the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Management of Economic Security at Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) presented the results of their joint research at the international scientific conference 2026 IEEE 7th KhPI Week on Advanced Technology, held on 5–9 October 2026 at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The research team comprised Tetiana Polozova, D.Sc. in Economics, Professor; Iryna Sheiko, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor; Liudmyla Sokolova, D.Sc. in Economics, Professor; and Serhii Stepanenko, D.Sc. in Economics, Associate Professor. Their joint study examined the relationship between digital development and electricity consumption in the service sector of European Union countries.

IEEE KhPI Week is an international scientific conference on advanced technologies. Proceedings from previous editions have been indexed in Scopus. The conference covers research in energy, electronics, computer science, computational intelligence, and technology management.

Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to present the team’s research findings to the international academic community and contribute to scholarly dialogue on digital development and energy efficiency.

On 28 October 2026, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) will host its traditional chess tournament to celebrate the University’s anniversary. The event is organised by the Department of Physical Education.

Applicants, students, postgraduate students, academic staff and university employees are invited to participate. The competition will follow the blitz format and consist of nine rounds, with seven minutes per player per game. Winners will receive certificates and commemorative gifts.

The Department of Economic Cybernetics and Economic Security Management supports this initiative and encourages its academic community to take part!

Every autumn, Ukrainians in different parts of the world come together to celebrate their language. The ЕС Department invites its academic community – faculty members, postgraduate students, and students – to take part in the All-Ukrainian National Unity Radio Dictation.

This annual event goes beyond testing spelling and grammar. It is an opportunity to feel connected to a wider community and to celebrate the Ukrainian language as an essential part of the country’s cultural identity.

Where to listen and watch: The dictation will be broadcast on Ukrainske Radio and Radio Kultura, on the Suspilne Kultura TV channel and YouTube channel, on the Ukrainske Radio YouTube channel, and via the suspilne.radio and Diia mobile apps.

A charity fundraiser for the Dronefall project, run by the Come Back Alive Foundation, will also take place during the broadcast.

Participants can submit their handwritten texts to the expert review committee online or by regular mail.

By email: Take a clear photo or scan of your handwritten text and send it in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tiff, or .pdf format to rd@suspilne.media. The deadline is 11:00 a.m. on 28 October.

A Tradition That Brings People Together

The All-Ukrainian National Unity Radio Dictation was launched by the Ukrainske Radio team in 2000. Since then, it has become an annual tradition, bringing people in Ukraine and around the world together through the Ukrainian language and culture.

According to information provided by the Scientific Library of NURE, an online seminar entitled “Practical Research Writing: From Question to Publication” will take place on 20–21 October 2026. The seminar will focus on the key stages of research, from finding relevant information and formulating a research question to preparing and publishing research findings.

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (NURE) is a member of the Research4Life consortium, which provides access to scientific information resources. The seminar is organised by the Research4Life Capacity Development Committee and the Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA).

The seminar programme will cover:

• Finding scientific information using Research4Life, Google Scholar, Summon and Dimensions;
• Formulating research questions and working with scientific articles;
• Principles of academic writing and preparing manuscripts for publication;
• Publication ethics and the scholarly publishing process;
• Open science and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic writing.

The programme will also include a panel discussion on publication opportunities for researchers from Global South countries.

On 3 November 2026, the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Strategies for Economic Development: Science, Innovation and Business Education” will take place online. The conference will address digital transformation of the economy, entrepreneurship development, finance, economic security, innovation in business education, and other topical issues. The working languages are Ukrainian and English.

The Department is also preparing the collective monograph “Transformation of Socio-Economic Systems in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals,” scheduled for publication in December 2026. The surveys covered five educational programmes offered by the Department and four target groups. The responses, comments, and suggestions help assess the organisation of the educational process, identify areas for improvement in educational programmes, and take stakeholders’ expectations into account.
