Educational specifics: our economic and management education takes place at NURE, one of the most powerful Ukrainian IT universities. This allows you to create a unique academic environment that combines business and IT. Our educational programs combine:
- study of the block of sciences «about business»: micro- and macroeconomics, economy of enterprises and regions, finance, accounting, management, marketing, economic analysis, international economy, e-commerce, logistics, investments, etc.;
- with the ability to work with information in an information environment – thanks to mastering the «cyber block» of disciplines: organization and design of databases and data warehouses, decision support systems, informatics and algorithmization (C++), application software, web basics. programming, economic modeling, basics of SAP technologies, etc.
The department develops educational cooperation with all faculties of our university, which gives us access to the network of IT specialists of NURE (teachers, practitioners, scientists). This cooperation allows us to implement large-scale interdisciplinary educational and research projects in partnership with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Department of Software Engineering, to attract the best IT specialists to teaching and to update our educational programs together with them.
Some academic subjects are taught in English in separately formed groups. It is a regular practice to attract guest lecturers from leading European universities to cover individual modules of educational programs. Also, the department is an active participant of the University Agency of Francophonie, which gives applicants and teachers the opportunity to use the French language in their educational and scientific activities and to develop Franco-Ukrainian cooperation.
Practitioners, industry experts – representatives of organizations and businesses, project and top managers, and successful entrepreneurs are involved in the teaching of professionally oriented disciplines. Mandatory participation of representatives of the business community in shaping the topics of term projects and qualification thesis, in pre-diploma practice and in updating curricula creates a projection of educational programs on real work situations.
A distinctive characteristic of our graduates is the ability to apply economic thinking to real challenges in various professional fields. Employment directions are best characterized by the examples of positions of our graduates:
- business support in any field (either as an employee or as a freelancer): chief economist, chief accountant, business analyst, assistant general director, deputy chief director, auditor, head of department in banking institutions, bank manager, project manager , customer service manager, production manager, logistics specialist, financial analyst, economic security specialist, SEO optimization specialist, IT tester, SMM marketer, tax accountant…
- decision-making at the level of the community/region/country: deputy mayor, head of the district administration department, deputy assistant, UN department specialist, HR manager of the international medical network…
- support for an existing family business or the establishment of one’s own business (analytics, consulting, Instagram business; production business, distribution…).
The priority of the scientific activity of the department – is the application of new knowledge and technologies for the sustainable development of society. The main scientific researches of the department are carried out in the following directions:

- Mechanisms for supporting innovation and investment development, economic security and adaptation of enterprises into transformational economy (scientific supervisor – Doctor of Economic Sciences, Prof. Polozova T.V.)
- Regulatory policy of digitization in the context of sustainable development (scientific supervisor – Doctor of Economic Sciences, Prof. Kolupaeva I.V.)
- Complex security and functioning of socio-economic systems in the context of hybrid threats influence (scientific supervisor – candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Grishko S. V.)
- Economic-mathematical modeling and information-analytical technologies in the study of socio-economic processes (supervisor – candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Kyrii V.V.)
The scientific activity of the department covers different levels of research. Student science functions on the basis of the practice of mentoring, the work of student scientific hubs, access to student scientific platforms (conferences, workshops, competitions, etc.). The main scientific activity is implemented through the development of the potential of the scientific schools of the department, the long-term practice of scientific leadership, through scientific research within the framework of grant, budget funding and initiative topics.
The department launched the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Modern Strategies of Economic Development: Science, Innovation and Business Education», which since 2020 has become a platform for scientific discussions, presentation of scientific approaches, interdisciplinary expertise and establishing contacts for many leading scientists from more than ten EU countries and Ukraine.
Our applicants and employees are published in authoritative scientific publications, referenced in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science, receive authorship certificates and successfully defend candidate and doctoral dissertations.
The priority of international cooperation is the digital transformation of society and the creation of a new security landscape based on the European value system.
Implementing this priority, the department became the executor of a number of international projects financed by the Erasmus+ program and the University Agency of Francophonie. The results of this work are joint development and research, updating of educational programs, creation of new academic disciplines, educational and scientific cooperation with many European universities.
The received grants allowed the department to create modern laboratories (in particular, an interfaculty hub) for teaching and research.
The international academic mobility of both teachers and students of the department is also developing with the financial support of the Erasmus+ program, the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA), the student exchange program between ENSIL-ENSCI universities in Limoges (France) and NURE Kharkiv (Ukraine) etc.
